Jakuren 寂蓮

Born Fujiwara Sadanaga and member of the Mikohidari family, I am the nephew of the illustrious Fujiwara Shunzei. He adopted me in my late twenties when he thought he had no talented poets among his own offsprings... until that stupid Sadaie (Teika) came along! He soon became THE up-and-coming poet and I was relegated to the background. So I quit and became a priest, taking the name Jakuren.

This site will be dedicated to bungo--literary Japanese--and relate material, both modern and premodern.
